Unlocking A Hdd, The Password Is Unknown

Hello forum members!  biggrin.gif

We are currently working on a project which allows anyone to easily unlock any hard disk drive with just couple of mouse clicks. Ok, long story short, we have already finished the most boring part: coding and now we need DRIVES. I mean LOTS of drives - to test it.

So: if you have a drive which is locked and you have no idea what the password is, then all you have to do is just download and run it!

Download here: http://www.hddunlock.com/download/

Attach your drive to a motherboard's S-Ata or IDE port (ensure you attached it as Master if its IDE drive) and run the program; it will unlock your drive (this will take some time).

If you find any bugs, just post here and I will pass all bugreports and suggestions to developers.

I am a new to this forum, so if you find my post inappropriate, then move it or delete it (I apologize)...

Sounds interesting, but does it give the option to lock an unlocked drive? Since it's on xbox-scene, in the 360 section, I'm assuming this is for the 360 drive, but there's no point in unlocking the old drive if you can't lock the new drive with the same password. Finally, I thought there was more to swapping the 360 hdd than just unlocking.   unsure.gif

It is intended for unlocking a drive when you have lost the password, to be able to re-use the drive (supposedly in a PC). We are not familiar with X-Boxes too much (except the fact that X-Box drives are locked for some reason), so if you could provide more details on what is required and why, then we could probably take a deeper look into the problem and develop a solution...

This would be really useful for xbox 1, the only program around that does this costs $50.

I dont know how 360 drives work, though

Tested on an Xbox "slim" Seagate ST310014A drive, the only device on IDE secondary master.  Program detected drive as locked, performed diagnostics, I entered virtual key, and program states failed to unlock.

Folks, if you are interested in this program, the unlock function is only free TODAY (through June 11, 2006).  After this date, you will be paying $9.95 and up, PER DRIVE, to unlock them.

Be aware there are free unlock solutions for the "rubber jacket" and "slim" Seagate drives.  Details here.

That said, if you have a large hard drive which is locked and useless, now is the time to try and unlock it for free, don't wait around... give the HDDUnlock program a try...
