So now for the big question:
Is it safe to FW Mod, without risk of being banned or have M$ brick your 360?

Everyone was in fear of this "LIVE update" and now it looks like it won't effect the FW modded systems, is it safe to say if M$ hasn't fixed this issue yet they never will (or won't be able to check for FW modded systems) ?

No, its NOT safe to assume that they won't be able to ever check the FW on your DVD Drive. In fact, it's pretty much a given that sooner than later they will. What IS safe to assume, is that when/if they do find your 'hacked' FW, they will NOT brick your system as that is VERY illegal. You own the machine, you can do what you want with it.

They could, however, rewrite your hacked firmware with a legit, perhaps 'unhackable' one in a future dashboard update. It's your right to refuse the update, but then you can't use xbox live.

The absolute worst thing they could do eventually would be to pull a PSP style firmware update, where you have to update the dashboard to play new release games, basically preventing your 'hacked' xbox from playing the newest, coolest games. But  then someone will find a way to play them anyway, and the cat and mouse game will continue.

They could be collecting information and at ANY time ban you from Live.

I actually would like to know this also? I hope more people come out with their experiences, cause it seems like people got quiet after the update.  unsure.gif

Personally, i sign on but im not playing on live just yet. They could probably still nail me just from logging in..doh!

This may be a stupid question, but if you disconnect the ethernet & still log into your online gamertag & play games, do the achievements go to that name or the offline? Just curious...
