When Flashing

when i try to falsh my drive on the 360,i cant get past the makeing a back up of the orignal firmware with this box i have.When i type i (mtkflash r backup.bin) my pc to seems to hang displaying the message (port: 170,Master/Slave :a0) and the pc doesnt seem to respond after that,any idears anybody!
