I was wondering this myself, I dont think the discs are patched with any samsung specific material (although I havent looked majorly in depth yet), so they should in theory work i guess

It'll be fine, theres no reason for the hitachi firmware to need to put the SS info in a diffrent place.

Your making RAW copies of the DVD's and applying the SS code to a certain area.

When the hitachi firmware is released it SHOULD point to the same place for the code and run happily.

Huh? I mean, we don't have to know the inner details of the hack to know that there is NO reason why the Hitachi hack would point to a different SS. That would be retarded. I haven't read a single shred of evidence supporting the fact that they would need to do this in months (xbh, etc). wink.gif

If they do point it at a different SS, I'll have a heart attack, because it will be the biggest shock I have seen in 5 years of following the scene...  happy.gif

Hehe, alot of people realy waiting for the hack, dont worry people sit back and relax, read the frontpage of xbox-scene a few times each day and hope for the best, it will be posted there as soon as its released anyways, no need to ask in the forums 10 times pr day, cause no one realy knows except the guy creating it, and he wont reveal anything until its done anyways.

I was answering the question as to when we will see the firmware in that post you quoted, not wether backups designed for xtreme would run an a HLG drive.
