i was hoping someone knew what  2.0.2356.0  represented.

Yeah, that's just the .xex for the Dec. backwards compatibility update.

No, it will not re-enable you to play the kiosk disc.  This does not rollback the kernel/dash, but is simply an update to backwards compatibility.  The reason any user can download it and burn it to cd/dvd to run it is because the media flag is set to allow you to do so.
