So i just read an article on gamesection.dk stating that MS not will be able to update the new firmware hack.

Im danish too, and this article is total BS, they say that TS wrote on the internet that MS can't fix the firmware hack, but that isn't true (I haven't seen this anywhere yet), I don't think anybody knows this at the moment  
They also tell that this hack will play games from other regions  


Here's a quick translation:
A Hacker called The Specialist, says he is very close to crack the code inside the Xbox 360 dvd drive, written by The Inquirer thursday.

The Hacker probaly found a error in the buildin software in the dvd drive, that makes it possible to play backup-dvds (read illigal copies) or discs from other continents in the console.

In a more technical explanation, "TheSepcialist" says that the software in the drive is made in such way, that MS can't even send out a update to fixe the problem.

If this is true, will it be a hard punch agains MS, who has made a big deal out of the hacking/piracy-security in the Xbox 360, and they talked allot about it.

In december told other hackers that they hacked the dvd medias, so they would be possible to copy, now they seems playable within short time.

ok ok, even The Inquirer writes BS, but more correctly:
"Even if MS issued a forced update to disable the modification, new firmware could be installed again which goes undetected, claimed TheSpecialist"
But thats not the same as:
"In a more technical explanation, "TheSepcialist" says that the software in the drive is made in such way, that MS can't even send out a update to fixe the problem."
MS can update the firmware with live, but nobody knows if they dare (failed update = dead machine), future games can be able to detect the modified firmware - like on the PSP, and the story about games from other regions is also BS...

My article reads: "The Specialist says that the software is made in such a way that MS can't fix the problem by sending out an update."

"Problem" = Xbox 360 being hacked.

Well as TS mentioned multiple times.....MS could update the kernel (as they do with any live update) and let the kernel check the firmware.....But then the firmware can edited and made to send out what the kernel asks for resulting in a cat and mouse game.....
