i'm a firm believer in if a game is worth playing, buy it.  the only thing that I would enjoy about being able to play "backup" games is that i'm getting a second 360 for my fiencee, and I don't really want to buy 2 games (since we don't always play as much as the other) just to play together.  it's already expensive enough for 1 game, and then to hear her bi#$h to me about I want to play with you online I wouldn't like...  but who knows.  there again, if the world was perfect and people wouldn't rent a game just to be able to play it all the time and not buy it, I would be able to do this as backups would be legal and useable.  oh well....  there goes another $59 for a game I already have so the wifee can be happy....
