So I'm guessing that there not in a obvious format like the picture are. I could find 12 MPEG file headers but I only have 1 saved replay.

Before someone calls me a retard, please disregard that last post.

There was only one problum, some pictures would be extracted with no hex code.

I seemed to run into a problem.

I have extracted some pictures no problem, about 1\4 of them actually work. I read you fix, but the problemis that there arn't large blocks of zeros or the zeros are not in 1000 byte blocks.

Just wondering If you have ran into the same thing.

Me and sniper kill are probly the only people working on this problem, some images have the 4096byte corruption and some have a 8192byte corruption. And i have seen a total corruption, with bits everywhere in a JPG. For now the 8192 and the 4096byte corruptions are fixable as the others need more time to be looked at!

Man all it is is a list of what goes on saved.
Take the example, Midi's
they are sequences of sound events recored to a file, thats why a 5 minute song is 40kb

so when played the computer recreats the song using a libray of pre recored sounds.

So to do what your asking for is crazy.
1. You would need to create a render engine
2. some code to take those sequences and understand them and get the engine to make some stuff
3. u need all the  model files textures, sounds ect off the PGR3 which would be like 4 gb
4. The quality would suck due to there engine has had 3 or so years of work into it
5. most people dont have a computer that has 3 cores of power and a really good gfx card

In two words,
F##k No

Anyone know any other good hex editors or how I can repair broken JPEGs that are not broken on my 360.

They aren't broken. They have a hash table jammed inside them.

The security of the CON_ version of the PIRS archives has a feature where it likes to place random blocks of 0x14 byte hashes through out the file. Thus, some end up in the middle of your jpegs. Currently, it's not known the algorithm the 360 uses to check these or even determine what location/size the hash table will be in the file. This is why current PIRS archive utilities and JPEG extractors are corrupting (every 3rd image). If you had 10 images in the file. (USUALLY) the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th images will be corrupted by hash data. Hope this explains the problem a bit more.

As for SK's fix. Yes, it's possible to manually remove these tables but is quite difficult for the average user to determine what is hash data and what is legitimate jpeg data. He merely attempted to place this in words/tutorial form which is a bit hard to grasp.

EDIT: I guess a simple/temporary fix would be to save 2 of each snapshot you take. Only one can (possibly) become corrupted since it's every 3rd image. smile.gif

I should have my card reader in any day now:

Does this same method work for screenshots taken in other games, say DOA4?

It would be handy if Xplorer360 had tools for doing this kind of extration and clean up Automatically.  smile.gif

I've looked at DOA4 screenshots a bit. Nothing in depth. The thumbnails are simple enough to extract as they are very small .png's.
See Here: IPB Image

The full screenshot however is an odd form of .mdi file. If you do a google search you can compare the header to your average .mdi and notice the similarities. "PTC+MSHM" According to my pal, pedrospad who has taken a more in depth look at the format; they are your average .mdi with an odd/new compression technique not usually used. Below is a link to an extracted photo. (Although not viewable!)

Oh and the reply was to a question from me, asking about BC adding a upload to USB device function into the photomode.

I have had problems of late with extracting, when ever I take shots from playtime mode now. The shots mainly don't fully extract 90% of the time now, but what I mean by this is.

When I extract playtime shots, that look really sweet. With like exposure past 50% and brightness past 50%, I get File Error, sorry! when extracting all stuff.

But when I take a sweet shot in one of my garages, it mainly does not have many problems at all. In other words 85% of the shots fully extract.
