Full Xbox360 Game Raw Dump

i can't get this working with the emergency hole at all... my PC still labels the disc as what the hotswap DVD is called, but wxripper doesn't read the data at all. maybe this trick doesn't work on x64? i've also noticed that i can't get either of my drives to stop when i tell wxripper to stop them, or any of the other functions for that matter...

Hi i'm new in here^^

I just tried out the hotswap with my DVR-110D and works fine.

I used the wxripper with the DVD of Deep Blue Sea as hotswapdisk.
I could dump PDZ without any problems. The dump size is 7,05GB.

Cause i have no dual layer DVD-Rs at this time... i extracted the game datas...
There still remained 4,83GB. Still dosen't fit on one single DVD-R.

So i started Nero and made a new iso. Put all the extracted files in and deleted
the french and the english language files(cause i'm from germany^^).
Now it fits well on one DVD-R.

I burned it... started my Xbox 360... put in the burned game and first thought OMG=D but only for 2 sec:P than the black screen, that often appears in the 1st seconds of loading a game, disappeared and there came an error saying something like.

Disk can't be read.
1. Regionsettings could be wrong.
2. Clean the disk.
3. Restart your console and ask for help on www.xbox.com/support

Here is a pic i took with my mobilephone:

http://www.speed-is-...ng.de/error.JPG

Is it normal that the xbox 360 first load the burned game and than show this error?
Is it normal that the console recognize the burned game as a game ... and shows the PLAY GAME in the dashboard?

Just wanna know if there happend something special or normal:P^^

Maybe we can start making a list of compatible drives and Gael360 could include it wtih his program for people to reference to ? I have had success with the Pioneer DVR-A09 which is the same as the DVR-109, I had negative results with the 16x Duel Layer Emprex Burner, and I have like 3 more drives I opened that I can test it with later today I will update my list.  If other people can post what drives there having success with then I can update my list here or we could maybe start a new pinned thread with this info te WxRipper.
Just an idea smile.gif

Working :

Pioneer DVR-109

Non-Working:

Emprex 16x Dual Layer Burner

@ Twist

DVR-110D is working too as i said above^^

could anyone tell me if everything was normal that happens to me when trying to play my backup?

and could it be that the dumps are always the same size if u use the same hotswap disk?
cause my PGR3 and PDZ dumps have both the same size...

the extracted game datas are different of course...

The dumps have always the same size, whatever you use for hotswap.

The size is :

129824 sectors for the video session, the bad sectors and the false leadout.
1783936 sectors for the data zone on layer0
1783936 sectors for the data zone on layer1

For a total of 3697696 sectors.

Each sector contains 2048 bytes, so the total is 7572881408 bytes (= 7395392kB = 7222 MB = 7.05 GB...)

The drive I use is a 'LITE-ON COMBO SOHC-4832K', and it works very well !

Yes you can't play with your backup, because your DVD mediatype (DVD-R) doesn't match the media flag of the xex.

ok^^

i knowed that i can't play these backups yet... i just wanted to know if it is normal that it at least trys to start the backup... i thought the xbox 360 wouldn't even recognize the backups as games tongue.gif

These media flag...
It is ONLY in the xex file right?
So it should be something that is contained in every games default.xex ?

If someone finds out which part in the xex says from which media type it can be run from, would it be possible to change this part to DVD-R ? I think i read that the media flag of the kiosk demo disk allows to play from DVD-R... I have the Kiosk disk burned on DVD-R and it works. would it be possible to copy and paste a specific part of the kiosk disks xex file to the dumps xex file to make it run from DVD-R?

sry for all these questions^^

just installed XP pro normal (not x64) and it worked great biggrin.gif the only problem i had was finding a 7.8GB DVD... jimmy carr saved me there though. i just put in the DVD, let it load on windows, opened up wxripper and told it to stop the drive, then i used the emergency hole to get the DVD out and put in the 360 game, just slid it back without having to give it a jolt at the end and it worked great

edit: i used a pioneer DVR-109 to do it

Good stuff... I'm trying to use a 7.94GB DVD Movie as a swap, but after closely following the directions, I get the error about "hotswap DVD too small" or something. Tryin to back up Condemned NTSC.

I disassembled my HP DVD200i, that was fun. smile.gif Maybe this only works for DL burners?

Oh well, I'll keep trying! Next, I think I'll try the laptop suspend mode. Thanks for the awesome tools.

Update: Nope, no luck there either. I still get "Error : hotswap DVD is too small" I've read that some people got it to work with 7.8gig DVD's before. Hmm. Maybe Condemned is just a really big game?
