Noob Question: Creating A Backup Dvd

Hi,

I am just trying to understand why it's not possible to get a original xbox 360 DVD and make an exact copy of it and eventually simply run it in the xbox.
If you create a sector by sector copy of a original DVD, then the copy will be exactly the same or am I wrong?

Thanks for helping me understand in advance

no, it wont be the same, it will be on a dvd-r, and not a pressed dvd (why is it that every fails to see this very obvious difference?) then the media checks will fail and the xex wont run

There is information embedded in every disk that states what type of media it is. The first thing the XBox360 does is to check that information, and if it says anything other than "X-Box 360 DVD" then it's a no go. This information is pre-set by the manufacturer, and cannot be changed. All recordable DVD media contain a "media code" from the factory which identifies them as being DVD recordable media. Clear?
