Where the hell did I say I WANTED it finished in a year. VoiceofReason, Don't take my comments and then quote them out of context. I was explaining how utterly impossible the idea was. I was saying how after a year or more, you wouldn't even be close after working 24-7. I even say that I believed they were underestimating the sheer volume of what they were asking. So, don't come on here with 25 posts and start taking MY statements and throwing them around like I was trying to SUPPORT such an idea.
I also don't like the idea of jebusOK with all amazing 7 posts to bring about this topic after there is ALREADY one. Not only did you make a topic for no reason, you quoted someone that took my statements and made them what they wanted. If you wanted to make a point, there's no need to include my post that he quoted.
Maybe you should learn something while you're here. Welcome to X-scene, there's no need to make another topic when the same topic is already being discussed. If you choose to make a topic discussing the same thing as another topic, you're just wasting space. If you have something informative to add please do. However, if you just want to rehash other topics, take yourself to the noob forum, they're good at that.

I think you were right to comment on his post and correct the implication of "years" rather then "millenia"(yup! I'm underestimating as well) . Your reasoning in your post is excellent for the newbie who doesn't have a clue and I can see why JebusOK used your post . Obviously crosseye found it a little patronizing.

however, remember crosseye posted in this thread shortly after having clicked on a new thread to find a new user "JebusOK" has used him to represent the "ignorant foolish newbies". I would be fairly pissed at that.

I'm not bragging about post count as I obviously don't have a ton myself. I AM saying that if you want to contribute, don't use a new topic about a topic already being discussed. Secondly if you would read the whole post you would see in that very same post I tell them they are underestimating the sheer volume of what they were asking. My post is simply an effort involving some slight sarcasm to point out that the idea is well beyond grasp. I'm not a math wiz or anything near it so I felt no need to even try to pull out the rediculous numbers involved.
Like I said, if you want to add something constructive go right ahead. If you're just here to rehash old topics that have been beat to death, there's already a place for you. I'm guessing you don't know the first thing about modding the xbox. You probably just picked it up when you heard about this softmod deal being really easy. The fact that you're new here almost assures me you know hardly nothing, so when you learn something tell us.

He knows his shit? About what? He pulled together some numbers about something we already know is impossible at this time. Since when has he said anything constructive about modding? He rehashed an old topic yippee. I don't need to write tuts for stuff that someone else already explained nicely. That would be the same as rehashing a topic for no reason. Unless I had an easier or better way, there's no need. I DO however, know about many of the details involved.
Seriously, he made a new topic of an old topic. He pointed out that I was trying to show people it was not gonna happen. He then took 1 statement I made in a simple effort with some sarcasm to point out it wasn't gonna happen and made it seem like something else.

Actually jebus came up with the topic, Voice had nothing to do with it, he was only quoted from a previous topic. If you look at my first post you will see my disapproval for that.

I actually meant to seperate the two. JebusOK started the new topic and voice just didn't get what I was trying to say. I guess in voices defense, if he would have known the different places I've told people it wasn't gonna happen he might understand my effort to put it simply and try to use sarcasm to show it really wasn't gonna happen.

Realize that obtaining the digital signature is a horrible idea anyways. Anyone remember the Dreamcast? You could literally play any game you could download without having to even open it. Games stopped being produced. There is no money in making games that people can steal so easily.

Apply this to the Xbox 360 and you'll have one amazing system that will fail just like the Dreamcast ultimately did.

Great idea...

Instead... pick up another job or work overtime so you can afford what you want.
