Why Can't I Upgrade My 360 When M$ Does?

This topic is to make people open theire eyes and see more wide on the 360 comunication...

Just a simple question!

Why can't I upgrade my 360 when M$ Live does?

"- Thats an elementary question dear dr Watson, an elementary question. That's what all people here asks and want to do."

So if M$ has a motorway into my 360 mabe I could get a way in too? I feel very unsatisfied and novice when I look on my 360. Mabe the solution is much closer. Mabe my computer could look like a M$ Live and comunicate with the 360 and pass me through, into my 360. I remeber my first "real" modem a Jackie AT 1200, if I "remeber" the name right. So simple all it was, the modem took me everywhere. Even on internet, long before the www, through the backdoors on BBS... and the sysop's was there to guide... it was a democratic time in the old days. Everything was free exept the telephonebill.

What does a LINKSYS/NSLU2 belive a 360 is?
Today I am wondering if it is possible to walk thorugh the 360 with a simple little thing, like the LINKSYS/NSLU2? It comunicate with a lots of things. Why not a 360? Would it be possible to make a LINKSYS/NSLU2 walk through a 360? Has somebody tried with a LINKSYS/NSLU2?

That is probably the least likely way in. Live is the most secure aspect of Xbox. There is no way to get on with a modchip on. The solution was to keep the modded state and Xbox live away from each other. I think having two Xboxes will be more prevelent this time around. Its either that or never use Live, which will be possible with tunneling services and getting needed updates from a burned CD rather than over Live.

MS is using encrypted data files to transfer the updates to the 360.  If you can crack the encryption, and probably the digital signature on the files located in the XCP files, I am assuming those are probably XEX files, then you will be able to update via this method.

Thanks jameswalter"

That means if I could lay my hands on the encrypted upgrade data files originalfile from "Live". In theory I could do the "Live" upgrade by myself.

Is it only the "handshake" that are  encrypted or is it the whole files?

Can I edit the files with "UltraEdit" or what editor do you recommend? I don't have the files and I am not a good coder but still I want to know.

The update files for the xbox emulator are availiable from free60.org I believe.  It is possible to have the 360 pointed to a local computer (through router port forwarding) for the update....but again....it would need to be decrypted (maybe only decompressed) and then you would need to create a XEX that would do what you want and for it to run it would need the digital signature (created/encrypted with a 2048 bit key).
