Raw Dumps Burning
« on: December 13, 2005, 09:51:00 PM »

It's great that so many people have taken an interest in trying to mod this SOB, but we're missing one important thing a way to test! Sure, there's a way to backup your games (although only a select few have the tool right now), but we don't have anyway to replicate a burnt 360 game. Like for the original Xbox, when we burnt a copy, it acted like an Xbox game and didn't show up in the drive. Unfortunately, there is no way to yet burn a 360 backup to media so that it acts like an original in your PC drive. I'm not sure if this simply has to do with the way we are currently getting/making the backups, in *.360 instead of *.iso format. Or if a special tool is needed to burn Xbox 360 files to their correct format. Wouldn't the tool that helps you create the *.360 file also be modifiable so that you can burn the created image as well? I know that tool isn't available, but maybe with the PI Extractor source code something can be created. I dont know enough about burning software to really know what is recquired, but I think having the ability to replicate a Xbox 360 original from an image file is an important step we should be working at. After all, we do need a way to test if the random crap we are doing is working wink.gif
