Might sound a silly question to some people, but from what we have seen so far, combined with all the rumours that MS have leaked (deliberately or not), do you think it will get hacked in the prime of consoles market life? (ie. 3 years)

I don't think so, I would like to be wrong, but I reckon the protection comes from so many angles that you have more chance of getting linux running on your toothbrush.

This isn't intended to start a flame war, just to get the general feeling, based on what we know so far.

What do you think?

 Whilst that's true, and I completely agree, if this was software alone, but they have embedded security throughout the hardware with this, and if you look back at the original xbox, if it wasn't for the original buffer overflow, the thing wouldn't have got hacked!  The scene never worked out the private key to this day!

I think it's sad, because it will put many off buying one, and could ultimately help other consoles (if not as secure, peform better).  20% of the people I know only bought an XBOX after it was hacked, because they had more control and could install home brew apps, media centre etc, and be able to store their games on the HDD, extending the live of their originals.

I hope I am wrong, but I am no so sure about this, and MS learning from the original mistakes.

I'll give it a year or less before this thing is cracked.

And I believe it's quite obvious why we never obtained the Private Key for the first XBox, but that didn't stop us did it? It was still figured out how to mod the box, FTP to it, fit custom hard drives, etc... So I believe that this is obtainable within a year of release.

This definitely would be going a lot easier if there were more 360's though, so that everyone's got one.
