They must charge for everything. I think Windows 7 SP1 should include a feature that charges you per download.

That was my IDEA !!! Lmao watch them charge for updates and Service packs.

W$ will never give anything for free.

Just waiting to read M$ lame response to this.

I bet the spokesmonkey completely ignores any actual issues and goes on to say something about how they're committed to providing quality and value for the customers. You know, the usual spiel they give no matter the topic they're asked about.

Yeah dude whatever !
Ive used virtually every OS out there and windows 7 is a facelifted version of Windows Vista.
Which is why all Vista drivers work on Windows 7 Moron.

Because you have used every os doesn't mean you know how they work or was built.

Win7 is not Vista with a facelift it has a lot of the same functions and was also built on nt but so was the past 6 windows so you going to say they are just facelifts no because they are not.

Back to the correct subject it's not only MS being greedy here come on Sky are the worst look at the prices they charge all the BBC are probably saying is xb live gold is a pay service which they wont allow people to pay for that function we already do that in tv licence so open it for silver and it will be on 360 which ms should be ok with but they wont they want to make money of bbc.

Ms's way of conducting business

Braid premium theme

"Unfortunately, we had to charge the standard Premium Theme price of 250 Microsoft Points (which is about $3.10 in American money)," confirms the indie developer. "We want to make it free, but Microsoft doesn’t like giving things out for free."

I get BBC Iplayer free on my HTC Hero and it works flawlessly and so does my mate on his Iphone. Its a mobile phone!!! Why the hell can MS not do this for free too and it would boost the hell out of sales of their console. It would be so sweet having Iplayer on the 360.

Another typical response from the people who desperately cling on to the horribly outdated WinNT 5.1 kernel of WinXP.
XP (nt 5.1) is a facelifted version of Win2K(nt 5.0), that's why Win2K drivers work on winXP Moron.

See how dumb & arrogant that looked?
And then I'm not even going to discuss the fact that not all vista drivers work on 7.
Win7 runs on the NT 6.1 kernel, Vista on the 6.0 kernel, there's a difference. Clearly you haven't used "virtually every OS" long enough to see the differences, much less understand them.

Back to the BBC thing: it is a bit of a dick move from MS, even when they have always followed this business model.
Then again, iPlayer is in one country only, the UK. In my eyes, it's the UK's equivalent of hulu.

It seems you are contradicting yourself? You say nt5.1 is a facelift of nt5.0. So why is nt6.1 not a facelift of nt6.0?...

Let me just say that some years ago i was kind of a MS fan, because of what they actually did for the whole computer world by implementing DirectX, and providing a OS that worked quite well for most people.. This was of course influenced by the fact i worked at that time with MS products wink.gif

Anyway now i am moving away more and more from MS products as much as i can, and i am also telling those who would like a new computer system that if they can they should go for a Mac, this is also because i will be moving over to a mac the next time i am prepared to upgrade my computers.

Would i have bought a new 360 today, maybe but only! because i like to play around with hacking consoles and so on, but if the 360 was not hackable(same applies to the old XB1 which was only used because of XBMC) and i were to choose between a 360 and a ps3 i would have bought a PS3, just because i am a bit tired of MS products, and always have to pay quite large amounts of money for their products like XB live.

I personally did not jump on the Vista wagon, but i like the look and feel of Win7, although it is like all other windows out there - gets sluggish the more you use it, especially if you are like me and like to test new programs and later uninstall it etc.
