However I can't use Live anymore so is there anyway to get the optional update from somewhere and does anyone know when the full dashboard updates are available from the Microsoft site.
downloading the media update from xbox live with a silver or gold account is the ONLY way to get it - if your console is banned, you are SOL
fyi, i believe it is also a per user license; in other words, downloading the media update for 1 profile does not allow it to work with all profiles
i had lots of problems trying to download it with my wife's silver profile the other night, but it worked immediately for my gold profile so i had to let her watch a movie with my profile - it did not download for her profile until i tried it much later(after midnight)
