Play Avi Files Without Being Signed Into Live

Hi,

Is there a way to play AVI files (from a DVD, haven't tried it from network) without being signed into live? When I try to play the AVI file, when not signed into live, it says that a media update is required to play this...but when I'm signed into live, the files play fine without any update messages.

I have also tried this after taking the update.

WMVs play fine without being signed into live.

it's because you originally downloaded the update on a different console. you'll have to make a fake silver account and download it again on YOUR console with that account. then all users of your 360 can watch avi files offline.
