Mkv --> Mov --> Wmv

I figured it out grr.gif In TMPGENc I wasn't getting directshow to recongize the video. Just 'MP4' under source format. After a few hrs of pulling my hair out I found out that Chris's instructions left out on critical step! In YAMB you MUST under properties of the video set the following:
1. Language (not sure if imporant but whatev)
2. Brand Name ISO AVC (Im pretty sure this forces the use of Direct Show)
3. Aspect Ratio 16:9

Now my videos encode under 3 hrs smile.gif pop.gif

Update! This process works flawlessly on 720p content so far. I am doing a 1080p right now. I am also encoding with 9.2 Lossless audio since I bought a 12k audio system and it sounds awesome.

In YAMB I tried to only set 'Brand Name' only to ISO AVC everything else set to 'unspecified' that still didn't bring up 'Directshow' in TMPGENc. It appears you must fill out Language and Aspect Ratio as well.

With the machine I built it takes about 4 hrs with VBR average/peak 2 pass 9.2 Lossless for 720p and about 10 hrs for VBR average/peak 2 pass 9.2 Lossless for 1080p.

Thanks again Chris!  pop.gif

I wish my system was that fast, no matter what I do it still takes me around thirty hours to encode.

So what kind of videos are you encoding?
