Not quite sure if this is the right forum, but it seems like the best place if not!

I want to get a nice 5.1 (or even 2.1) kit as i'm fed up with the crap inbuilt TV speakers I have. Can anyone reccommend me a good set? I've done some research but i haven't found a good comparison between digital and non. Is the difference massive/worth it? Thanks folks

Yes the difference is massive. The sound from most LCD/Plasma Tv sets is crap due to constraints in the baffle caused by thin cabinets.
A separate surround system is a great investment. You don't need to spend a fortune to get a big improvement, but recommending one is hard without knowing your budget.

Did you say the difference was between digital and non or just between 5.1 and TV?

I have a budget of around £80 i guess, could push to £100

Between 5:1 and stereo from the TV.
£100 is not going to get you anything much at all. i would save an extra £50 and go for

You could get a cheap acoustic solutions 5;1 package but they are not up to much at all.
