The answer is in the FAQ at the top of this forum, link is also in my sig.

Is there any chance you could provide the answer to the question in this thread, in this thread?

I have looked at the FAQ's and gotten myself confused by all the information, and your signature does not seem to include any answer i can see.

Any answer to this thread would be much appreciated as i am also experiencing the status code: 69-80070017, and every time i sit down to eat my dinner and watch something on my box my dinner ends up getting cold as more and more of my media is coming up with this status code error.

Alla wanna do is sit down and eats and watch good media...

Thank you for your time.

Some Divx And Mp4 Videos Won't Play Now?

Just a note, I recently bought a new XBOX 360 Jasper. I had an old XBOX 360 from launch I gave away to my cousin. I remember being able to play DIVX and XVID files from DVD and from the network on my old XBOX. I even have a DIVX movie that works on Windows Media Center. I didn't like how the 360 interface was and never used this much. However I appreciated knowing I could play DVDs with Divx files.

The new XBOX I have, I recovered the LIVE ID. I downloaded and ran the Divx  patch. And even after all this was done DIVX files will not play on the new XBOX. It won't read it from Windows Media Center or from DVD with Divx files inside.

It explains alot, but might run some tests on the old XBOX to see if it can still play DIVX files at least from a DVD. Might be something missing or the August Dash update did something.

Its a bummer to lose this DIVX playback, but I still use XBMC on XBOX1 so its not a big deal. But still, it sucks to lose this feature.

Well, I got it to work again, the DIVX files will only play on "Video Library" tab of XBOX Dashboard, and you will need to enable XBOX 360 as an extender on Windows Media Player 11 for it to play the files. That was the reason why my new XBOX did not play DIVX files on my PC in the first place.

Windows Media Center on XBOX 360 will not play DIVX files. Its not allowed, if the DIVX files are on a share folder. (There are options but I don't want to encode/decode on my PC to stream DIVX files).

Oh and the FAQ i read earlier today confirms, you need to be signed on XBOX Live to run DIVX files on "Video Library". This is sad, really sad, but thats just how it is.

So I can play DIVX files on my XBOX again, just will need internet be signed on Live.
