Trying To Stream Videos From External Hd On Pc
« on: February 27, 2008, 01:25:00 AM »

I had the exact same problem...
Afraid to say that the only way i managed to get around this was by installing Connect360 on my mac
Connect360 shares the contents of the external disc just fine...
Thing is, this programme is mac only... and i don't know how to solve this problem for pc's...

That sucks... you would think they might figure out that people might not use "My Videos" for their videos. Morons.

its an easy fix guys......

open wqindows media player and click on the tab below 'libray'

select 'add to library'

click 'add' then select the removable device which you want to use, ie hard drive or usb stick' then select ok. media player will search the device for content and it will show up in your media player library.

voila, its now found by your 360 as well

Odd.. that is exactly what did not work for me... only internal stuff showed up on the xbox...
The external stuff, even though it shows up in library, did not show up on xbox...

Well not that it matter now for me, i got a new bigger internal hd a few weeks back, but just for the sake of this topic wink.gif
