What?

Do you want the xobx to play 5.1 or the pc to play 5.1? it sounds like your askin to do both at the same time?

If you mean plug the xbox into the PC and get 5.1 from movies on your monitor then yes you can but you need a sound card with optical input. most only have output as optical as its usually the source not the destination but there are a few around..

search for SFX card optical input. Also your speakers or your soundacrd must have a decoder. so if your speakers dont get a sound card which does.
