I remember when I purchased my PS2; XBOX had been out for some time. Because I didnt have a DVD player, my first concern was a DVD player, then gaming. Because the XBOX needed a remote/addon, I went with the PS2.

Someting this small CAN sway a descision.

if MS released a BD addon for the 360, it might steal future PS3 customers away, that think the same way I did way-back-when.

We ALL know the 360 had far more quality games than the PS3... why not take away the last real reason to buy a PS3?!

MS made the HD-DVD drive an option for a reason... it would be a shame to waste the flexibility.

why am i bothered... i brought an xbox to play games.. not watch HDTV although its a nice extra, its not my reason for buying the xbox360....

plus.. thankfully i never brought the HDDVD Addon, even if it was 20$ I wouldnt same goes for Blueray, Im not so intrested in watching a movie on an xbox.. (unless its a DVD rip, divx, xvid etc..) then for that.. XBMC is the ONLY way to GO! smile.gif

Alot of people are the opposite though, I bought a ps3 for blu-ray not to play games.  The ps3 is pretty much the same price as a standalone bluray player, so why not get the gaming as a bonus.

I bought my 360 for games (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

But i see what other people mean, if people keep buying ps3's for bluray players.. then all of a sudden the ps3 sales go up and when they're gaming catalog grows they have alot of potential customers.

I would love Microsoft to make a dual-format (HD-DVD AND Blu-ray) add-on drive for the 360. I would buy that in a heartbeat. Otherwise I will keep my HD-DVD add-on until the entire format has been depleted of studios and releases; Universal and Paramount still have great movies to keep me busy.
