Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to put an xbox 360 game on to an external hard drive, then plug that hd in to the 360 and play the game straight off it, without having to burn the game to disk?

Nope

All backups need to be burned to a DL disk to play in the 360.

ok im wanting to know to the guy said no but i think you can cos the xbox 1 you could play games off of the hdd with disc you just had to extract the iso to a folder on the hdd so couldnt you just extract a xbox360 game to your external hdd and play it off of that ?

The 360 won't allow you to play games off of an external HDD. If you figure out a way, let the world know. :-)

I doubt that it is impossible.
so far, no one as managed to do this though, and its highly likely no one ever will.
