and will it kill anyone because they have the wrong time. if ur using evox, it dosent even ask you, so it just say the wrong time..

Having the right time sometimes.. and the wrong time at others.. will ruin some peoples save games.. as many saves are clock/date ordered.

Having correct time is important for many games with multiple saves/auto save options.

QUOTE (catdog2 @ Jun 25 2004, 06:08 PM)
ShadowRaider:

The power supply works by having 3.3V available at all times.  This runs the clock, and also the PIC which controls the power on off etc.  This is the wire you are currently cutting (3.3V Stand By) - which removes power from everything (much like pulling the plug out of the back of the xbox)

To start the rest of the power supply (to turn on the processor, harddrive etc) the xbox sends a signal on the white wire (power supply on) - then the xbox will turn on.

By cutting the white PS_ON wire instead of the purple +3.3VSB wire (brown on some xbox's), you will force the xbox to remain in "stand by" mode.  This means that the clock will continue running, but the xbox cannot turn on - it is stuck in standby until you use your key switch.

Hope this makes sense.... it is only a trivial point, but if you are making a tut for other people to follow then this method is probably better.

Catdog is right.

the guy was prety shure about the white(sometimes brown) wire. it says power on (on the MOBO)

cut it and try to press the buttons, and if they dont work then pit the switch and ull be all good. if the buttons work then soder them back together and do the yellow wires comming off the power assambly assambly. #1&3, but let me know if the white one works. i wont be able to try it for 2 days. my xbox is being painted . ill post pics up soon...

nah, you should see the keys i got, its those vending machine ones, i dosent look possable, unless you have a key prety close to it, or you can always open the xbox and rewire the wire back together, but thats if u loose ur key...

Did anyone ever check if the white wire works in the intended fashion?
