Shit, if I had to keep my kids off the box for some reason I just take the power cable with me and hide it.  biggrin.gif  No need for a key. I got too many damn keys as it is.

Nice tutorial though.. wink.gif

yea, thats what i use to do, but then what if sometime they find it... with a key you flip a switch and dont worry about anything..

thats why i tried to do it thru the yellow wires, but is not really possable unless you have 2 switches. thats just stupied. so i did it thru the power wire, its like when you disconect the power cable. everyone does that once in a wile. right?

Christ, Did you read what I wrote in this thread earlier? You CAN use the yellow wires with one switch. Use wires 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4 and it will work fine.

Edit: I just tried my way and it works fine.

ok, but when you still disconnect the power cable you still hvae to re do the date and time?

Yes, after having the power cable disconnected for a certain length of time the capacitor that powers the clock loses it's power and will stop keeping time. So your method is really a non issue on Xbox's that are usually packed up, such as Xbox's for lan parties. But for Xbox's that are usually plugged in 24/7 your method will act in the same manner.

yea, thats true, but how many people xpecialy moders leave there box pluged in 24/7, theres always a reason you have to open it?... ill put both ways up later. the easier(m way. and the 24/7pluged in way?

and will it kill anyone because they have the wrong time. if ur using evox, it dosent even ask you, so it just say the wrong time..

anyways
thanks for all ur help

plus if your the type that have ur xbox pluged 24/7, then you dont really have anyone to lock it from... this is supose to be for people that hide thier wires or live with roomates and dont want them messing with thier xbox.. if if you have little brothers that do what they please...

but ill still post the other way..

and also, my way is more effective if you have one of those wireless power on remotes or if you have an on/off button from your controler.

my way will not let it power on at all

thansk all for making this happen. this tut will soon be submited. good luck im out

ShadowRaider:  The clock not being set is very annoying, a number of games will crash on loading if the clock is wrong or not set.

depends though, my xbox is always plugged into the internet, so my dashbaord autosets the clock everytime i turn on, so it wouldnt matter if i lsot my clock info everytime i turned off

Instead of cutting the purple wire (+3.3V standby), use the white wire (power on).

This will keep the clock running, but won't let the xbox power supply start up - therefore the xbox can't be turned on.

nice tut, should go in the tuts section of xbs... congrats!

yep thatks, 1st i did it with the yellow wires and then the eject wouldent work..
ill post this in XS once its 100% error free.  catdog say it would be better to do woth the white wire???

now my quetions about the white wite. if it turns the power oin or off, isent that the same.

are you shure if i cut that the buttons wont work................

why would they have 2 power siurces comming off 1 board going to another, they would just make one and split them at the board... i think

plz notify me if ur shure. if it dose stop the power from powering the system & dosent kill the power then cool, but isent it the same..

the thing that remembers the time is on you MOBO and the only way to let poerw to still go there and stop the buttons from working is cutting the yellow wires.......
i think its 1,3
