I doubt these are sold numbers maybe shipped to supliers, but could I be wrong. Nielsen/Videoscan will tell the truth.

i have the top of the line toshiba hd-xa2 and the pioneer elite bdp-95fd and the blu-ray is much better...
That's funny... I thought the HD-A35 was their TOTL model.... but what do I know.. I just sell this stuff.

IMHO no one really has it down well yet. If I was to speak of a manufacturer I'd say Samsung has the best player out right now. Their bluray player seems to work better than any other bluray or hd dvd player we carry in the store. But all of them are somewhat slow at reading the disc and take a while just to load the menus. Not to mention they lack features now standard on DVD players, and the player menus and controls don't make much sense. For example. To get to the repeat function on the Panasonic Bluray, you press "Display" on the remote... Now if only samsung could get their new hybrid in stores.

The HDXA2 is the higher priced and specified model. The 35 is newer but newer is not always better. Reading up on the 2 the HDXA seems to have the edge

I never said anything about the poster specifically. Simply mentioned the fact that that this is the type of movie I would probably like when I was 12years old. Simple fact is it is impossible to say what most people prefer. I could say most people prefer Star Wars. Doesn't make it a correct statement.
If you think this is a pissy post, you haven't read enough of my posts. I don't not post or just agree with everything everyone says, just because they may not like my opinion on a subject. I don't expect many of my posts to win friends either but I say it like I see it. I actually always have. It is an opinion not a personal attack on the guy/gal. Like any other opinion people are free to disagree. that is what this is all about is it not? wink.gif

Agreed!  hehe so would you say that a dvd that sells the most both first day and first week numbers (new records for both as far as I have heard for 2007) is the dvd that most people preferred to buy?  wink.gif

how bout the classic coke vs pepsi taste test where most people preferred Dr. pepper?

I agree it is a great seller from the off and yes lots of people have bought it in the early release days. No argument there but your argument doesn't mean most people prefer it to other DVD s. That week you could say most people preferred it to other new releases. That would be correct but still does not take any account of people that don't like the genre. Could be most people chose not buy a DVD that week because there was nothing out that interested them.In fact if you turn it round  and state actually most people preferred not to buy it.
Do you see the point I am making? You need to compare it with something.. another DVD perhaps?
In other words most people preferred it as opposed to what?

Touché
yep exactly that would not be saying that most people in the world bought transformers, but that out of the people who do purchase dvds/HD-dvd a larger portion have purchased this movie in its first week then any other movie this year. I just assumed this was understood, but you do know what happens when assumptions are made, hehehe biggrin.gif. I do think that making statements about somethings popularity based on sales figures is a good judgment on what the market in that category prefers or otherwise they wouldn't spend money on it at all. I guess proper wording would be a larger number of disc purchasers supported Transformers over other movies released this year. "In other words most people preferred it as opposed to what?" ...umm all other dvd/HD-dvd releases for the year 2007. this was fun by the way and i do get your point!
