How Does The Hd-dvd Player Stack Up?
« on: October 22, 2007, 04:57:00 AM »

if i were you i would wait to see what walmart is planning to sell at Xmas time. there have been rumors of sub-200$ HDDVD players. Hopefully they will support more sound output options then the 360 HD player. I do have the HD player for the 360 and enjoy it, even though i'm still waiting for my god damn free movies. The qaulity is great through component even though i'm only get 1080i on my TV and not 1080P. So if i were you i'd wait for the new sub 200$ HDDVD players cause i would rather have a 1080p via HDMI then the xbox360 version via component. Also not to mention usually stand alone players have true HD format sound outputs as i believe the 360 only does 5.1

In England you can get a dual HD player for around £500.  As the format wars play out you may be greatfull of having a quality HD and blueray player in one box.
