Playing Hd Wmv From A Disk Through Video Tab.

I have a Few HD WMV videos that I was playing off a 2.0 External Drive.  They play fine from there.  These videos are 5 - 8 GB a piece and the drive is filling up fast -

I decded to back them up to DL DVD.  I burn them in Nero in UDF format as the ISO format will not accept them.  Once FInished the Xbox 360 in the Video Tab shows "FROM DISK" and I can see the video File.  

When I play the File it starts and everything is fine, but at some parts it just locks up the picture (the audio keeps playing) then there are screen tears and the picture eventully restores it's self and the movie is fine.  This happenes about 8 times in a 2 hour video.  Is HD WMV too high of a bit rate to play from DL DVD?  IS there a solution to this problem?

Any input would be appreciated.
