oh, I do. It's Sony's way of saying "Hi folks"

Anyways, Sony proofed that it can create a media standard and make it successfull

BetaMax = pure win. I still prefer BetaMax over DVD
MiniDisc = it's like an Mp3 player, but bigger. That is awesome, people are more likely to notice your gadget
SACD = Seriously super audio CD. This just has to be better. It has the word super in it, how can it not be better? Just like Super Mario Bros. was mor successfull than Mario Bros.

Well better check your facts then.
Blu-ray is not owned or developed solely by Sony.

Blu-ray Disc Founders
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blu-ray Disc Founders (BDF) group was a collection of technology firms working together to develop and support the Blu-ray Disc. The Blu-ray bandwagon grew progressively; announcements in 2004 included Hewlett Packard and Dell, which declared support for the standard on January 12, 2004, and TDK on March 19, 2004. In mid-2004, the BDF group was incorporated into the new Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA).

The group included:

    * 20th Century Fox
    * Dell
    * Hewlett Packard
    * Hitachi
    * LG Electronics
    * Matsushita Electric Industrial (Panasonic)
    * Mitsubishi Electric
    * Philips
    * Pioneer
    * Samsung Electronics
    * Sharp
    * Sony
    * TDK
    * Thomson

That is proof that Sony is not the only company to develop Blu-ray Disc
Have a good day.

check your facts

nor is the SACD

but still, Sony has failed on pretty much any media they backed/developed, besides the standard audio CD.
even more so, when there was a competing format available or whenever it tried to replace something old inhabited
