1280x1024ws And Media Center
« on: July 06, 2007, 04:09:00 PM »

Copied from the hardware forum because it seems to be a Media Center issue...

When choosing the above resolution which is near perfect ratio for my 1440*900 monitor Media Center comes up all mashed, like it is in 1280*1024 but not widescreen. Anyone seen a solution for this? Thanks!

That's not a widescreen resolution man. That's the problem. I recommend you use 1280x720 (720p). Also 1366x768 should work, that's the native resolution on my 37" LCD. But yeah, 1280x1024 is not widescreen.

I realize its not a widescreen resolution, but you can choose widescreen display... you know you have the Resolution Setting in the Display Menu and under that is like Format or something I can't remember.  The other resolutions work for the most part but there is stretching, with the 1280*1024 Widescreen option there doesn't seem to be any stretching.  I will look at the menu again and get some exact terminology.

EDIT: In the Console Settings -> Display -> Screen Resolution you can select 1280*1024 then go back a level and choose Screen Format and set it to Widescreen, which seems to work nicely.
