What if you want to pause, rewind, or fast forward?  Does this delay exist there as well?  I bet that would crash the system quite quickly.

Great concept and I applaud the work by those involved, but XBMC is all I need...

You cannot FF/RW.  Kinda makes it useless.

Just wondering has anyone tried or used Nero to send video to the 360 it claims it supports all popular video formats and claims it will work with the xbox360.

Works good for me after much fiddling... go to video feed and select file>delete to get a load of the crap of the playlist then home media and add your own folders to see your own files. Quality is good but not great, transcoding still occurs on pc even after playback stopped on 360 which is annoying, will stick to xbmc for the time being. Good work guys, at least it works!

Can't get the XBox 360 to see my computer, in Test Media Connection - PC Selected always says "Failed".

This is what I've done so far:

- I've installed TVersity and the patch and rebooted
- The service is running
- I can browse the localhost TVersity config page
- Windows Firewall is off,
- My PC and the XBox are on the same network (both machines on 192.168.1.x, 255.255.255.0)
- Test XBox Live connection is all green and NAT open

Any ideas?

K gang - Need help smile.gif

Downloaded the MediaServer - Downloaded the ffdshow package they recommended (even though I have XviD, it said to use this one, so I did, because it wasn't working and I hoped that would fix it).

I can connect to the mediaserver just fine.

I can see 1/8 of the movies in my folder.

I cannot play any of them - Clicking play on 360 merely does nothing.  No movie, no error, nothing.

Help?

BTW - For those complaining about video quality - Please note there is a setting for video resolution, which I believe is for when you are transcoding..  You'll probably need to change that, since the default was like 400x300 - It's under settings / transcoder.. Mine is still at default since I cannot get it to play anything even at the default settings, but I'm pretty sure that's what you'll want to change..

I also downloaded UPnP Tester, it lists the TVersity media server but I understand it should also list the XBox 360 but it doesn't.

UPnP Tester can be found here: http://noeld.com/pro...stools#UPnPTest

I can see everything on the xbox 360 but whenever I pick something it says "The connection to your computer was lost. Make sure your computer is on, connected to your network, and is running media sharing software" or  "Can't play this content because it may not be supported. For more info, go to www.xbox.com/support"

I too am having this same error

For those who can't see the tveristy option on the xbox360

0. Make sure TVersity is installed and running
1. open port 41952 in your firewall
or diable firewall altogether
