Vlc360/transcode With Windows Vista?
« on: November 23, 2006, 11:06:00 AM »

I have been using VLC 360 for some time now and it has worked perfect. Today I updated my system to Windows Vista. The new Media Center is sweet, but VLC and Transcode do not work under the new Media Center.

Other than using Videora to convert, is there any other software like VLC or Transcode that will work with Vista?

THanks

If you make the video size larger its not so bad actually, default is 400x300, which is too low. I changed mine to 800x400, works fine now. Use more cpu though.

Actually Transcode does work under Vista. You have to update your .Net Framework to SP1 and then install Transcode to the your Users/MCX1 directory.

Took me a few tries, but it works for me now.

I had it working, but now I'm lucky if my 360 even sees my Vista machine. When it does, it locks up when I browse to my movies folder before I even get a chance to play them.
