Hi guys,

I just move out, so I got a xbox 360, a HDTV and a home theater. Now, I want to plug everything, someone can help me?

First, I must put the 3 components, the red and the white RCA in my television right? After that, I have to plug an optical cable in my receiver?

I also have a xbox, with some components cables that got a optical plug, so do I need to plug it to my receiver too?

Right now, I don't have a DVD player, but if I want to buy one, will I need to plug it with another optical cable or I can plug it with an HDMI cable?

Last question, do I need an optical cable from the TV to the receiver?

Thanks a lot for your help guys, can't wait to try this. I am going to throw my 20 years old TV to the garbage :-)

If you are using speakers other than what's on your HDTV, I would plug in all your Optical cables and Component cables to your receiver.

The only thing that should go to your HDTV is the HDMI connection or Component cables if your receiver doesn't have a HDMI output.  Let the receiver handle all your audio and compnent switching.  Let your HDTV be the display.

In regards to you DVD player... if your receiver has another HDMI connection (you can also buy a HDMI switch), then that is all you need.  No optical cable is needed... HDMI displays video and audio.  If you are using component cables, then you will need another optical connection into your receiver.

PM me if you need additional assistance.
