yes, and that's a known issue with the VGA port.  It's rubbish the whole lot of it.  I feel screwed by ms because they couldn't bone up and toss an HDMI port/AACS chip on there.  Granted, I have a 1080p tv that converts everything to 1080p... so 1080i would look nearly indistinguishable.  Still pisses me off though.

My VGA output looks much clearer and crisp than component.

This is fine for me considering I would never use component over VGA.

The 360 vga never had a problem with being 'blurry', in fact it has always given a sharper picture then component.  The problem in the past was that the colors were 'washed out'.  With the spring update it fixed this.

But there still is a problem with the 360 vga on CRT's, that isn't a problem with LCD's.  The problem is low contrast levels, and getting true blacks.

Anyone know of a vga to component adapter that will convert 1920x1080P to component video?

I found this, but it's $US466 and it wont do the required vga input resolution.

The "problems" some, not all, people are facing with VGA is that their display is not correctly configured for VGA. The colours need to be set as there is difference between PC colour formats and TV colour formats. Look in the options of your display.

So basically people with no VGA input dont get any upscaling from D1 resolutions.

If i cant take 100% advantage of a hd-dvdplayer addon with my current hdtv (wich has component-in only), i wont buy it, and im guessing im not alone in this.
Damn companies, wanting to protect their material from the people who actualy buy it. The pirates will find ways to copy 1080p source no matter what stupid protections are enforced,,, all this does is screw the paying customers sad.gif

And no native 1080p HD-DVD.

Well my LCD Tv has DVI input and not VGA.  So does anyone know if the Monster VGA adapter to a VGA->DVI adapter (that came with my video card) will work so i can hook it up?  My tv is only 720p native though.  But when I set the Xbox 360 though Component to 720p it "waves" the lines.    So I had to set it to 1080i and my TV down-scales it to 720p. My Original Xbox didn't do that when in 720p.

So if I can do the VGA out and do it in its native resolution my TV might even look better.

NOO!  ohmy.gif

My TV only supports 1080p 100% via HDMI/Component. Via DVI/VGA it's only 30hz. But i guess that isn't a big problem as long as it's only video.

Kim went on to explain Microsoft has "the ability to output either through VGA or component", and said "We have no HDMI announcement now."
so i would say it supports both component and vga 1080p

Since DVI is analogue you need to do an analogue to digital conversion using a vga to dvi adapter which arent cheap. I currently know of no adapter thats capable of a 1920x1080P vga input however.

Your TV does a refresh rate of 30Hz for DVI and VGA?  I have a really hard time believing that.

Most true 1080p HDTV's have a vga input that supports 1080p at 60fps and at 60Hz.

1080p (native and upscaled) component for games only.

1080p (native and upscaled) vga for games and movies.
