AWWWWW....my Verbatim DVD+R don't seem to work and neither do Sony DVD-R....could it be the method im using to burn them? I burn using the DVD-Video Template in Nero...or could it be that the European XBox 360 doesnt have the same firmware or something?

Here is what I do and I think is the easiest method. Put your DVD movie into your burner. Download DVD Shrink, open the program and choose open disc. Keep it at automatic unless you want to change things. Automatic uses compression to fit around 8gig DVD movies onto a single layer 4gig DVD-R (best to use DVD-R). You could choose to not use compression and take out unneeded languages and special features instead to fit it on to a single layer DVD-R. Let the program go to work, then when it's done and a box pops up asking you where to save the file, you can choose your burner which will burn it to DVD-R right then and there (if you use Nero). If you don't use Nero then save the file as an ISO and burn the ISO using whatever program you have.

Also, if your disc are not reading check this very important media thread. Using the advice in that thread I have has great success with Taiyo Yuden disc which you can buy at rima.com.

I also suggest dvd shrink... but all brands of media should probably work the same since the drive reads everything.

It probably will work with off the shelf media, but brands do make a difference, it's not just a matter of "drive reads everything". Gamecube is very particular in the disks it will read, so is my mother's set top DVD Recorder.

If you have Nero Recode, use that.  You have much more control of what you want to keep or not keep so you can get better quality.  And you can still keep menus after you get rid of stuff.

I agree, I really like Nero recode, esp. for downloaded movies. Cause most of the time they need to be recoded to work since they've already been shrunk down in size. It's like that for me anyway.  biggrin.gif  But I also use DVD Decrypter for new or store bought DVD's. After it's decrypted, I use DVD Shrink to shrink them down to 4.7GB's and then burn with shrink too. You have to have Nero installed to this though. I also use ISO Buster for the downloaded movies that are in ISO image format. (ISO Buster will turn the ISO image into VOB files) Then burn with Nero recode. I use Memorex DVD+R's.

DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter are the best to use, no question...

DVD shrink is the best for burning. I have burnt all of my dvd's with dvd shrink on dvd R+ media and my Xbox can read it and it has very good quality.

Nero Recode 2 is basically DVD Shrink with more options.

I don't understand why people use DVD Decryptor along with DVD Shrink. The latter software decrypts the DVD...there is no need to use DVD Decryptor before hand.

I'll have to check out Nero Recode 2.
