Great. Why not?
I removed R6T3 on both of my 360s as soon as I jtagged them weeks ago as it WAS recommended.
Is there any downside to having removed it?

It doesn't matter which you do, they're both as safe as each other, and as Blackaddr the original poster of the newer method says over at XBH, it comes down to which on you feel comfortable soldering.
