Yes they can be done by decapping so is possible..
but the time and effort needed to decap wouldnt be worth it.

Why the hell does anybody of you think that this xbox they sell has a "unflashable" drive in it?

I just modded an 84 Lite-on drive August09 XBOX was from 2009-09-10.

There are enough flashable xboxes aout there.

i doubt it seeing as he no doubt will be putting the method how to do it some time next week

theses drives can be flashed but you can't read the key

if you buy an xbox today it iwll have a 7371 dash so the jtag will still work to recover the keys

then just flash with liteon IX FW

this is (actually) impossible as MS swapped the bootloader in june 2009 preventing the jtag hack

Im not sure, but im confident i've read it before. It would make sense imho, first of all the donations they are getting are by far surpassed by some "users" have made with their efforts.

Also, only retailers knowing the way of modding a console DOES make it harder for m$ to find the hole.

I hope they will gain this f***ing money soon, as i'm curious about this "extra lavoration" for new drives.

Also this will not prevent MS to patch holes, for me it's just a money matter

where does it say it has a 93450c drive? some august machines still had a 80000c series that was flashable.

talk about jumping the gun, and throwing wild accusations around.

in the box's content there is even a CD with the... original fw!

it can be just the spoof data, but it is clearly written "original fw".

maybe someone found a way to fully dump a liteon???

Any chances of uploading that ofw? I would like to see what a ofw.bin looks like for a Lite-on. As I have pain stakingly been ATTEMPTING to contribute to the scene for the past 8 days, ever since I finally received a 9**** Lite-on from the repair center. Doesn't look like I'm going to be the one smart enough to dump it.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ahh well I'll just smoke a joint while I wait for YOU to figure it out.
