"Flash Samsung Drive: $40"
Doesn't it only cost $20 for the card to do it?
Actually, with a little diligence you could probably find a compatible SATA card for $10.
There is a lot more involved in flashing a drive than just having the compatible hardware though. I charge for my time, my guarantee of work, the risk involved, etc. Sometimes I have to do the "rubber band mod" to get a drive working, or tweak a pot, etc. Before you leave you see it work, or it is free, bottom line.
I charge what I feel makes providing the service worth my time. If anyone feels the pricing is unfair they are more than free to look for another installer who charges cheaper, does not bother me at all. Also, if I were to charge $10, or $20, or some other really low price, I would be inundated with requests for my service, mainly by kiddies. I factor that into my pricing as well.
Finally, if anyone needs help because they would like to try and do the mod themselves, I'll help where I can as well.
