Does A Ban Stop You From Purchasing Items From The Marketplace?
« on: November 22, 2007, 08:32:00 AM »

Topic covers it.

If you get slammed by the banhammer, can you still get on the marketplace to purchase items.  I should point out I have a silver membership (the free one) so I do not bother with getting on 'live'.  I just want to purchase a few songs for rock band.

Thanks
Mike

Your console gets banned not your account, so if you got a new xbox 360 then you could still buy stuff from live

remember that suff bought from live (arcade games/themes and so) is locked to the CONSOLE you bought it with.
So if you buy it on a friends "not banned" xbox, it won't work on yours!

bottom line, you can buy stuff but it won't work if you put the hdd in a banned console so it's useless to buy stuff then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No, it's locked to both the account AND the console

Ah i see, thanks for informing me about that  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)  if you had not have said that i would have still believed it was just the account it was tied to.

Hmm, lots of talk about buying a new 360.. lol.
I'll live without the DLC before I go shell out 250 dollars or more.

Ideally we'll get a 100% confirmation on what to do..  granted so far I've heard that poorly backed up games cause the problem, not firmware.

Dvdmullet isn't working like I hoped for Rock Band.

The DLC T&C is pretty much the same for all content and it goes like this.

When you download content, it is available to everyone who uses that console. For subequent consoles, it's only available to the account which originally purchased the DLC and is only accessible by signing into Xbox Live. Once signed in, you can re-download the content for your use at no extra charge.

Anyone else wishing to use that content on the console (and haven't already purchased it from another console) would need to purchase the content before downloading. However this step would automatically enable the content for all users of the subsequent console.
