I don't know about "20 seconds", but it does take a few seconds longer than usual now. However, i did notice this happening occasionally throughout the summer up until this point. It's just happening everytime now rather than once in a blue. They're definately checking something IMO

there's a reason behind that
i ordered one from amazon was supposed to be sent launch day
launch day came and they said 3 weeks

so i went and got one local 2 days later it turned up

couldnt be bothered sending it back

Maybe it's trying to scan for a dvd in the tray and not finding it makes it take a little longer.

No - mine did exactly the same thing. Only once mind you, but when I signed in, it was if the 360 had frozen. The sign-on blade was half across but nothing else happened for a good 30 seconds. I was in two minds to switch off the console!

LOL...I thought some of those covers looked funny. Seriously...Nice collection. I remember an old post where someone posted their collection and left in a paper cutter and blank discs in the PIC...LOL...oops
