I was on XBL earlier today playing with modified FW, but I am not sure if I am banned ornot. Is there anyway to check wothout actually having to try logging in for the error codes?

I just plugged my fiends Samsung (iXtreme 1.2)in and he got banned instantly. He had not been playing any games on Live and only connects to download demos.

All my BenQ drives are fine.

OK so bans have started. It has to be with the disk. It cant be firmware. Its impossible to detect firmware. The only way to do it is by disk. So really what is different when a backup is read from an original?

Edit

Ok so i guess they are detecting firmware.

I came home from work, popped the 360 on and logged in as usual, everything was fine. Popped in Rock Band and booted it up. There was an update available, so I came to check x-s to see if there was anything to worry about. Apparently there is!

So my question now is, has anyone done any game updates in the last 48-72 hours?? I believe I updated a game a few days ago, but I could still connect to live without a ban tonight.

My box is unplugged until this is sorted.

Cheers

Game updates have nothing to do with bans.

I missed the first wave too. I guess its because he hadn't logged in after the detection had started.

That does not sound good at all. Maybe conformation that MS logs disk data on your local machine.

Maybe detection has to do with book type. Like if it doesent return the right DVD-ROM or whatever like the original games do. BAN. Idk just throwing out suggestions.

But who mods their firmware without intentions of playing backups? That would be a good test to run tho?

The best way to check would to have some1 w/ the infectious chip on the mobo dump it and see if they see any changes *some1 thats banned that is* maybe they can cross check there previous fw dump*
