So hold on, are these bans because of the firmware, or is it because people are playing backups whilst plugged into live? I'm in the midst of trying to mod my BENQ now, and I think I might chill on it.

how was this beat last time? is there a way for the developers of the fw to find out how they detected modded boxes? or no? how long did it take last time before they "beat the bans," so to speak?

no discussion on downloaded game, torrent or any of that stuff. although some are careful on how they discussit, it quickly turns on discussion we do not want.

if you want to keep this thread open, be careful

also, this is not about how to hack, so moved to X360 general

this sucks...how do they all of a sudden figure out how to detect? its all the browsing of these forums lol.

i knew it was coming again, i haven't even signed in to live in over 2 weeks.

anyways to answer your questions; it most likely has something to do with the difference between the original game the backup (like last time), (going by how they detected it last time) there isn't a way for them to detect that you have a modified firmware only that you are playing a backup, it was a week before there was a live safe xtreme fw for the samsung and something like a month before one came out for the Hitachi.

Just checked my system with Hitachi and lastest firmware for it. Not banned, still running good for now. Were you guys playing backups online? Just asking because I only hook up the live cable with originals and never a backup. Actually I never have the cable hooked up unless I am going to play a original online.

Confirmed, just been signed out of live.  Got the banned error codes.

Samsung MS25 with iXtreme1.2

Oh well back to the store with this one, dont mind, the xclamp mod is starting to die and the laser is on its way out too.

May give me an excuse to buy one of those elites.

Here's some input from a few people on irc:
<hordak> hitachi47/xtreme2.4, hitachi59/xtreme2.3, hitachi59/ixtreme1.2r2, hitachi47/ixtreme1.2r2, ms25/ixtreme1.2rc

He was playing cod4 with 5 friends and they all got banned at the same moment. (signed them off) and those are the drives/revisions.

<purbeast> ms25/x5.3

Also, i would like to note that even though some of these people had older fw's, they only used stealth discs. The 5.x can be dismissed on hitachi, as it did not handle dmi/pfi inquries properly, but the ixtreme revisions should be taken very seriously.

We'll get a chance to see if there's anything new going on via logging later tonight. I'll keep this posted.

Forgot, last game I played was Rockband backup yesterday night, and before that I played my Guitar Hero 3 original.
