All the pictures ive seen show it looking like a male vga cable!  How are you going to be able to hook it up to your PC monitor?  Please dont tell me you have to have a female input on your PC's monitor!

Thanks!

Thanks man!  You are a life saver haha.  I really didnt want to let the owner of the store down, after he sold 4 computers to replace them with 360s!  (computer/lan/console arcade).

Thanks again!

just a little fyi, the reason the cable is like that is because HDTV's use the female connector. i know it says vga and it is vga but it wasnt made to plug into a computer monitor cable. looks like you got your fix though!

I didnt check to see for sure when I held the vga kit, but maybe it comes with gender changer? I doubt MS would go to such lengths to please everyone but it would save people from getting the vga kit and going home only to say "now wtf do I do"  :P

Most of the gender changers/connectors are only like $4 or $5.00

It would be nice if it does, but im not going to chance it.  He wants the systems setup for launch. So ill go ahead and order it, and if we dont need it, its only $5 each with tigerdirect.  Its just strange that it states for use with your PC monitor...kinda misleading.

That's true but a lot of monitors have a female connection on them.  Ones that don't piss me off, if the cable goes bad you're screwed and your image can get all messed.  Good point though i never thought of it being an issue!

I read in a faq on m$ website that it comes with a connector to change gender so that you can use it on monitors without a input (only the cord). I was so happy when i read that i was about to order a female to female connection online for like 10 bucks with shipping.
