Easy. I bought a defective XBOX motherboard off of Ebay. Took that along with my motherboard to an assembly shop where I get my PCB's done. They have a rework station there. They removed the 4 DRAM chips from the top and bottom of the defective board and re-soldered them onto mine.

I re-assembled the XBOX, reflashed the onboard BIOS with Xecuter2 since Evo-X didn't recognize the upgraded RAM and tested with a ram testing application off of xbox-hacker.

I don't have any photos right now, but I'll take some this weekend.

That's correct. The on-board BIOS has been flashed. It did have a home-brew chip soldered in but I removed it before the RAM upgrade and after I flashed the on-board BIOS. It's fairly trivial to add one back in if you need to disable the modchip for XBOX live, etc.

this might be a stupid question but can you unflash it so the flash is gone and then you could put a modchip in

Yep, you can restore the on-board flash to the original EEPROM and put a different modchip in. I did have a homebrew modchip with a disable switch, but pulled it out right before the RAM upgrade.

if you can restore the original bios. I would buy your xbox for 350.00.
Can it still boot with 128 mb ram with an original bios?
