X-link Wont Work On Modem Help!

i got x-link(kai) and i have a modem and it wont work.. i tryed hookin my usb to my comp as internet then my ethernet to my xbox using a cat-5/// or watever that probley didnt make any sence.... can someoe help me??

modem plugged in USB and the xbox plugged into the PC with a crossover cable will work.. you need a crossover cable if you plug the xbox directly into the PC .. either that or get yourself a router ..
