Using Xlink Kai On A Proxy?

hi,
im sorry if this question has been asked before, the search function wasnt working. so my question is, is there a way i can connect to Xlink Kai using a proxy. the proxy port is 8000 and the proxy it self is a http proxy (proxy.lambton.on.ca). any one have any ideas as to how to "tunnel" through the proxy?
