Network Help (wrt54gs + Wap11)
« on: September 25, 2005, 07:11:00 AM »

Help me understand the topology here. Are you trying to get your AP to talk to your router wirelessly? If so it won't work. The best thing you can do is get rid of the Linksys. Bring your laptop into the garage and connect your laptop and your xbox using a x-over cable. Then use ICS on the wireless NIC to bring your xbox on line.

The xbox is connected to the laptop through a cross-over cable > the laptop is connected to the router wirelessly > the router is connected to your ISP

Let me know if you need a hand with this setup. It will work flawlessly if it's set up right.

Cheers!

yes, i used that setup until xlink kai. After xlink kai, the setup didnt work. It doesnt connect to the internet through xlink or avalaunch. However, it does connect to XBC (?... i have no clue why).

So the WAP11 cannot act as a wireless bridge? Or do I just need another one? The xlink kai opage says the laptop way doesnt work but somehow the wireless bridge does, I dont know why but thanks anyway.

You'll have to check the specs on the WAP11.

Read about "Incompatible Wireless Network Cards" here.
