just a quick quesiton before i ask anything else, does my hard drive ahve to be locked to play on xlink?

ok anyway... my xbox is connected to my laptop with a crossover cable. the xbox ip is 192.168.1.2. and the ip address of the laptop for the wired port is 192.168.1.1. my laptop connects to the internet wirelessly. the router's ip address is 192.168.0.1 and cant be changed. i run halo2 off my hdd and go to sys link but noone is there.

also, i use xbmc as a dash. and i tried conecting to the internet directly by connecting to my dsl modem. i have the ip address of the xbox to 192.168.0.2 and gateway to 192.168.0.1 and the submask as defualt. and dns is 192.168.0.1 but i dont know if thats what its supposed to be. i boot my xbox and xbmc says its not connected to hte internet when i check by clicking the right thumbstick. but i can stream music from the internet like that. what do you think is wrong?

No, it doesn't matter what hard drive you use or how it's setup.

Use this 2 nic tutorial.

thanks. but i have a problem, i cant enable ICS cuz 192.168.0.1 is already taken up by my modem/router. adn it cant be changed.

Change your IPs to this and tell me whats up.
