Kai/xbmc Not Working On Wireless Network...
« on: May 09, 2005, 12:36:00 PM »

I've tried many different scenarios and read many discussions but I can't seem to get XLinkKai/XBMC to work on my wireless network.

If I connect it directly to my pc...it works.

My pc settings: (Static IP)
IP address: 192.168.1.74
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1

Wireless Router Settings:
IP Address: 192.168.1.1
IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Starting IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Ending IP Address: 192.168.1.51

EVOX Settings:
IP: 192.168.1.4
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1

XBMC Settings:
Assignment: Automatic (DHCP)

Wireless Adapter Settings:
IP Address: 192.168.1.5
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP: 192.168.1.74

Authentication Type:
Open / No Decryption  <-- I chose this one...?
Open / WEP 64
Open / WEP 128
Shared / WEP 64
Shared / WEP 128

I've connected my adapter with a regular lan cable to my xbox.  Not with the crossover cable it came with.

That's it...

any help would be appreciated...

You need to share how it is connected together along with the wlan adapter info.

You *Could* pick four: Buy a linux+MIPS based broadcom-chipset router and mod the firmware...
